About

We believe IC is not just a charity, but a group of people choosing to live differently. This blog highlights what we're up to as an organization, what inspires us, challenges us, and makes us laugh. It's our collective mind written down. We invite you to read, think critically, and speak openly.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN INC.

Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity.

Be near me when I fade away,
To point the term of human strife,
And on the low dark verge of life
The twilight of eternal day.

Ugandan roadies, welcome to America

Our beautiful intern Rachel Ashley made this video last week to capture the spirit of joy as the Ugandans arrived. Many of them had never been on a plane before. Most of them had never traveled out of their home country. You can imagine the poor innocent bystanders at the San Diego airport, so confused at the celebratory screaming. This is our real life. – Jedidiah

You can’t believe what CGI can do

CGI is Computer Generated Imagery (aka Pixar) and it has/is revolutionizing what we can do on camera. Everything you see in this video is drawn, modeled, and created on a computer. Nothing, not one second… is a real object. Ok, stop crying and just believe me. What if we just CGI’d the arrest of Kony and put it in our movie. He’d be so confused. jk jk jk jk… (i don’t hate the idea) – Jedidiah

Video worth watching: Last minutes with Oden

There is something to be learned in every relationship, and the first and most important lesson is how to love. And how often it is that the simplicity of an animal’s love helps us understand the complexity of one another.  Most of us have experienced the heartache of losing our dog. I can’t promise this video won’t make you cry.  - Jedidiah
