About

We believe IC is not just a charity, but a group of people choosing to live differently. This blog highlights what we're up to as an organization, what inspires us, challenges us, and makes us laugh. It's our collective mind written down. We invite you to read, think critically, and speak openly.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN INC.

Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity.

Photos: Abandoned theme parks, hospitals, and breweries

Abandoned places send pleasant shivers up and down my spine. Hence the pictures of the ship cemetery and the deserted Detroit public schools that I posted last year.

Now, I want to take this moment to celebrate The Internet. I clicked on a link about abandoned breweries, and The Internet, in its omniscience, led me to abandoned American and foreign theme parks, ghost towns, and finally abandoned hospitals and asylums. Pictures AND histories. I ask for nothing more.

Note: “Open for exploration” should be understood as “be prepared to post bail.”

Wow that’s fantastic! I’d never appreciated abandoned sites until this post. Just a reminder there is beauty in everything if we see it with open eyes and fresh perspective. I dare say IC runs the best blog around.

I’m pretty sure my dad took pictures of the same abandoned theme park back in the 70s.
