A Note From Uganda
“I write you from the very distant lands of Gulu upon which – thanks to your efforts – a new dawn steadily unfolds upon a people connected to you – not by chords of race, endowment, or social standing but – by the sheer destiny of all mankind and your belief that the world can be a better place and the conviction that we can do something about it…
You are the explorers of our time searching, not new lands, but new ideas. Thank you for identifying with the Schools for Schools idea, which is based on empowerment as a solution for the advancement against some of the world’s greatest ills. Thank you for giving a hand-up and not a hand-out! Keep the faith and do not tire of doing good.”
- Patrick Munduga
Patrick Munduga is the Ugandan Schools for Schools Program Manager. The above excerpts come from a letter he wrote to the November Challenge participants who raised $1000 or more in the month of November for their partner schools. The Uganda Staff always keeps up on what we’re doing in the office in San Diego, and they were so excited to hear about the November Challenge and the upcoming One for One Challenge, which Patrick referred to as “sheer genius.” If you don’t know what the One for One Challenge is, watch the video below and get ready to ask a lot of people for a little bit of money. Make sure all of that money is IN our office in San Diego by the following Thursday, December 17th so it will count for the competition.
