About

We believe IC is not just a charity, but a group of people choosing to live differently. This blog highlights what we're up to as an organization, what inspires us, challenges us, and makes us laugh. It's our collective mind written down. We invite you to read, think critically, and speak openly.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN INC.

Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity.

The Washington Post

Northern Uganda made the front page of the Washington Post’s world news. They received a whole lot more than the usual couple sentences too. There are video interviews, personal stories, and a detailed history of the conflict. The story is part of a series and throughout the week they will be looking at different perspectives on the conflict.

Go check it out, and tell friends and family to do the same.

Alice

When he isn’t exposing the world to injustice, or hanging out with dance crews, Jason Russell is turning classic fairy tales into modern day musicals.

A side project of Jason and Danica Russell, “Alice” is Alice in Wonderland meets High School Musical. It is the story of an everyday teen on the crazy journey of ‘discovering who you are’. There’s no way it will be anything short of amazing. His last musical having more pyrotechnics, smoke, and crazy dance moves than anything on Broadway.

Check out the trailer and, if you are in the San Diego area, order your tickets. It is selling out fast.

That’s So College: University Education in Uganda

Invisible Children’s scholarship program is “movin’ on up”, except instead of heading to the East Side like the Jeffersons, we’re expanding our scholarship program to send 51 students from northern Uganda to university. Now while we’re currently reviewing over 277 applications so that we can announce the scholarship recipients later next month, we wanted to give you an idea of why this expansion is needed.
