About

We believe IC is not just a charity, but a group of people choosing to live differently. This blog highlights what we're up to as an organization, what inspires us, challenges us, and makes us laugh. It's our collective mind written down. We invite you to read, think critically, and speak openly.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN INC.

Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in central Africa to peace and prosperity.

Here are three articles to check out, while you’re playing on your computer.

Jubz, a computer programmer living in Chad, mentions the work IC is doing in his review of the film War Dance.

College Candy recently recapped what we’re doing here at Invisible. If you recently heard about us, their article is a great place to find out more. Along with the main site of course.

That’s it.

Secret’s Out

Long time IC-supporters Pete Wentz & Ashlee Simpson got married last weekend. As part of their wedding festivities, they asked guests to donate to Invisible Children, in lieu of gifts. If you want more info, as well as a peek of the invitation that mentions IC, check out this fan’s blog. We could link to some paparazzi-style site…but thought you’d prefer Triggered’s Live Journal instead. From everyone here at IC – thanks, Pete & Ashlee.

Peace and Conflict Updates 17-21

If you haven’t stayed up-to-date, you’ll be able to find the following: the potential for peace in light of Kony’s failure to sign the peace agreement; Kony’s willingness to meet with Acholi leaders; and unrest in the top ranks of the LRA.

One of the ways to support Invisible Children is to stay educated, with the facts, of what’s going on in Uganda.

The IC Soundtrack

We know, we know – it’s been awhile. Thanks for all the feedback from the last IC Soundtrack entry. We’ll try to make it more regular. If you have a request for music used, leave it in the comments and we’ll get to it, promise.

Based on the last Soundtrack post, we’ve had requests about the music used in Black is for Sunday: The Story of a Displaced Child.

Two of the featured song are Sparta’s “Erase It Again” and Switchfoot’s “American Dream.”
